Community AED Challenge

Goal

To install as many life-saving Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), where they are needed most, in the counties of Lanark (excluding Mississippi Mills), Frontenac (South, Central and North Frontenac only), and Lennox & Addington.

How You Can Participate

Canadian Heartland is currently receiving applications for the installation of AEDs.  The deadline for us to receive applications is May 1, 2012.  Download your application form here: AED Application Form

Program Criteria

The Canadian Heartland Foundation will provide half the cost of the placement of new defibrillators (equipment and training).

The remainder of the funding must come from the fundraising efforts of the applicants.  This amount will be not less than $500.

The suggested AED placement must be in a publicly accessible building (a community hall, recreation centre, Seniors' home, etc.) situated within the geographic boundaries of the riding of Lanark-Frontenac-Lennox & Addington.  Riding Map and Description

A selection committee made up of healthcare professionals from the area will evaluate all submissions to ensure that the placements make sense.

In April 2012, the selection committee will announce which projects have been successful in receiving funding for their Automated External Defibrillator.
